I'm Darla Wotherspoon, and I help by

I have a wealth of experience in raising and training puppies using Puppy Culture protocols. I ensure they grow into confident, well-adjusted, and happy dogs ready to join their new families. I have experience showing my own puppies as young as three months old and assisting countless owners in correcting common behavioral issues. When it comes to jumping and biting, I bring a practical and compassionate approach to puppy training.
I've dedicated my career to helping owners foster strong, positive relationships with their pets. Over the years, I've worked closely with several rescue organizations, training and rehabilitating rescue pups to prepare them for their forever homes. My hands-on experience and success in addressing various behavioral issues have reinforced my belief in early training importance. I'm committed to providing personalized guidance and unwavering support to ensure lasting change and happiness for both puppies and their families.

I have known Darla for 10 years. I have always enjoyed our lengthy conversations about our dogs. We belonged to a GSD club back in Canada and I was so happy to have met someone who was very knowledgeable about dog life when we moved to the DR. After my last German Shepherd passed I was ready for a new puppy.
Shortly thereafter I bumped into Darla at the grocery store. LOL the next day I was the proud owner of an 3 month old Great Dane named Astro. I wasn’t sure what to expect owning a Great Dane. I knew he was going to be big and he was certainly sweet and a bit mischievous - which Darla told me he was a busy guy.
Astro was completely potty trained when I brought him home and that was such a huge benefit. He knew the basic commands sit, down and a few tricks too. He blended in with our other dogs and was instantly part of our family.
Darla has always been very supportive. When I first brought Astro home we messaged almost everyday. She answered all my questions right away and would send me information, videos, made recommendations, informed me when vaccinations were due, etc.
I was so appreciative of her support and her true passion for her dogs is very apparent. Today we are proud owners of both Astro & Cosmo. We love our boys. They are brothers and they love to visit Darla when we train with her.

At Alley Katz & Hounds- a volunteer operated non profit shelter- we have rescue pups who come to us from abandonment, neglect and unfortunately abuse in their history. We work with them therapeutically to rehabilitate them but some of our pups sometimes have behavioral needs that need a little extra help. Sometimes they just need a pre adoption training to assist them with transition from life in a pack to life in a family as the only dog, or with only one or two.
Darla has been such a gift to our organization. We know who to entrust with our emotionally fragile pups when they need the extra training. From helping an overly excitable duo of pups to learn the basics of being calm, sitting, waiting , and walking on leash, to teaching pups to climb into a car and like in one minute or less, to helping us address a much more serious issue of food aggression in one of the mama dogs.
In that particular case Darla made herself available to advise us over WhatsApp during the whelping process when mama dog became aggressive as well as by providing training and guidance and later formal onsite training on helping this mama dog overcome the issue . She did so well in training and follow up here that she can now eat in the same room at the same time as her best dog friend, making her much more adoptable .
Even with my lifetime of experience with my own dogs and years as a volunteer rescuer I learn something new and valuable from Darla almost every time I watch her with a dog.
